Jen Cody has been performing on Broadway for the past 25 years. She has originated roles in many shows including Seussical the Musical, Urinetown, Shrek, Taboo with Boy George, The Wild Party, The Pajama Game revival starring Harry Connick Jr, Henry and Mudge in which she received a Drama League nomination, Judith of Bethulia and Charles Busch’s Cleopatra. Also on Broadway, she has joined the companies of Cats, Grease, Beauty and the Beast, and A Christmas Story.
She has also performed in the companies of No No Nannette and The Pajama Game at City Center Encores and the Actor’s Fund Productions of Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and Mr Magoo’s Christmas. She is known for her extensive participation with Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids in their benefits, The Flea Market and Broadway Bares.
Her voice can be heard on many cast recordings, commercials and many animated characters. Most noteably, she is the voice of Charlotte LaBouff in Disney’s Princess and The Frog. This performance won her the Annie Award (Excellence in Animation) for Outstanding Performance by a Voice Actor in a Feature Film. Charlotte’s voice can be heard in the film, in animated comics and even at Disney on Ice.
Other Animated characters include: Darcy in Nickolodeon’s The Winx Club, Maggie in Disney’s Mickey Mouse Mixed-up Adventures, Fifi in Triggerfish’s Khumba, Lucy in Nickolodeon’s Robot and Monster, Old Legless Mexican Whore on American Dad and multiple voices on Phineus and Ferb, Gravity Falls and P. King Duckling.
On television, Jen has created many memorable characters on The Good Fight, Blue Bloods, Instinct, Bull, Unforgettable, The Untitled Paul Reiser Project (So Here’s What Happened), O.T.P, Law and Order, Rosie Live, The Battery’s Down and in the movies Paper Spiders, Alistair’s Wednesday and Lucky Stiff.
Jen has performed throughout the Country in National tours of Gypsy, Cats, Grease and Hello Dolly! (Kevin Kline Award for Best Supporting Actress). Some of her favorite roles in theaters around the Country have been Sylvia in Sylvia, Dotty in Noises, Off, all of the women in Last of The Red Hot Lovers, Annette in God of Carnage, Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, Tessie Tura In Gypsy, Hildy in On The Town and Elizabeth in Young Frankenstein.
She has also had the amazing opportunity to create roles in new plays around the Country. These include Wendy MacLeod’s Women In Jeopardy, Brent Askari’s Hard Cell, Owen Panettieri’s Vestements of the Gods and the holiday favorite, Christmas on the Rocks.
She is a BFA performance graduate of Fredonia State University.
